Happy New Year!

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

Welcome to 2023!

This month is all about one of my favorite pillars - Living with Intention.

Why is this such an important thread that helps weave the tapestry of living a purposeful life?

Because without it, it is very difficult to create a life you love. And, in case you’ve forgotten, that’s why you’re here!

‘We either live with intention or exist by default.’ -Kristen Armstrong

Think about when you were a mom of young kids and your life was orchestrated around getting them to and from baseball practice, sleepovers, dance class, extracurricular events, helping with homework…and many of us while working outside the home on top of that!

Phew! It makes me exhausted just thinking about it.

During that time you did what you had to do to make the household work. And let’s face it, there was NOT a lot of intention going on.

Nope. It was more like you were in a pinball machine just bouncing from thing to thing. That’s just the way it is during that phase of life.

And how did that make you feel? Exhausted? Overwhelmed?

Who wants more of that in their life? Not me!

But now that you are starting to consider what comes next for YOU, it’s time to harness the power of intention so you can live your life instead of your life living you. (Read that again.)

So what does it mean to live with intention?

The word itself stems from the word intent which means ‘resolved or determined to do (something).’

For me, that translates into choosing what YOU want more of in your life, and taking action to get it.

Do you want more ease? Joy? Connection? Fun? Love? Adventure?

Then set an intention for those things. That’s your ticket to get there.

When you state your intention and focus on it, you will bring more of that into your life. You will notice the things that bring you joy. You will seek out opportunities for more adventure. You will reach out to your best friend to connect. You will make it a point to have a date night with your husband.

This month, I encourage you to get more clarity about what you want your life to look like. Set your intention for the year.

The New Year brings an opportunity to reflect on where you’ve been, and where you’re going.

It’s about fresh starts, new beginnings, and letting go of what no longer serves you.

It’s an opportunity to create new possibilities in your life - things you may have never even considered before.

Then, look out at the world because it is unstoppable!

Monday Mindshift

It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”

— Oscar Wilde

You’ve heard me say this before, and you’ll definitely hear me say this again.

It all starts with you…

This is the part that most of my clients struggle with - spending time just thinking about what they want more of. We haven’t been taught that so it can feel awkward, even weird but it is absolutely critical when it comes to creating a life you love.

Ask yourself What do I want more of in my life?’

Start with 10 minutes EACH DAY. Grab a notebook, journal or your phone* for a voice memo and get started.

When you dedicate the time to journal each and every day, it helps you make intentional choices and evaluate the path you’re on.

Some Incredible benefits of daily journaling…

  • Gain clarity around the choices you’re making

  • Increases your confidence and promotes a sense of ownership in your life

  • Gets you excited for the future

  • Promotes optimism about your goals and the path you choose to reach them

  • Helps you get more enjoyment and pleasure from your daily life

  • Brings you into alignment with who you are and what your core values are

  • Gives you a sense of empowerment when it comes to making future decisions

*If you don’t enjoy journalling, you can think about it on your walk. Or when you’re driving to work. Or when you’re sitting in the backyard enjoying a cup of coffee.

Remember, the key is to create the space to reflect in silence!

Then record whatever comes up in your voice memos. Do not edit!!

And I want you to remember that this is an ongoing learning process so it’s important to listen to yourself with compassion, rather than judgment.

Love Xoxo,
