Surrounding Yourself with Positive and Supportive People

Ugh! Getting out of your comfort zone …. There is almost nothing scarier than facing down your biggest fears, especially for women experiencing midlife crisis age. You’ve been there. Your palms are sweating, your stomach is fluttering, and your heart rate is through the roof. It can only mean one thing: you are pushing your edge. Embracing these moments of discomfort can lead to profound personal growth and transformation during this significant stage of life.

And it’s terrifying!

But you know what’s even more terrifying?

  • NOT pushing your edge.

  • Living life in your comfort zone because it’s ‘easier’.

  • Choosing the familiar route because it’s what you know, and it feels safe.

If you’ve been around here long enough, you know that when it comes to personal growth work,

SAFE = STUCK

To get unstuck, you need to take those hard steps. You need to embrace and push through your fear of the unknown – because you know what lives in the unfamiliar? You!

That’s right….your most authentic self is waiting for you to find her.

She’s deep inside, buried beneath all the roles you’ve taken on throughout your life. Maybe you’ve been the straight A student, the athlete, the good girl or the troublemaker, the girlfriend, the wife, mother, and daughter in law. Whatever roles you’ve taken on, each one has added another layer between your authentic self and the world around you. This is why women in midlife are often feeling fried – the constant juggling of roles and responsibilities can leave them feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from their true selves. It's essential to peel away these layers and rediscover your authentic essence to find balance and fulfillment in this transformative stage of life.

And for a while it was sustainable – you found your way, and you marched along your path – at least that’s how it was for me as a young mom.

But then there comes a point in your life – when you face a big transition like your child going off to college, getting divorced, losing a loved one, or retiring – when you feel like the role(s) you’ve been playing and the way you’ve been defining yourself no longer fits. This is when some women wonder, "Do women have midlife crisis?" It's a time of self-reflection and reevaluation, where the challenges and changes can lead to a deep desire to rediscover one's true identity and purpose. Embracing this transformative phase can open doors to personal growth, empowerment, and a renewed sense of self.

You realize that something has to shift. But you’re not sure what. Or how. You may feel overwhelmed. You may be grieving the loss of what once was. And you’re likely terrified of what comes next.

The thought of leaving your comfort zone can seem like just too much – after all, you’ve spent years playing the roles you’ve been playing. That fear of the unknown and the unfamiliar can paralyze you.

But I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way – if you can manage to shift your thoughts just a little.

Monday Mindshift

It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.

Be Brave. That’s right. Tap into that #1 Pillar of the Live BRIGHTer Blueprint.

Instead of letting your fears stop you from moving forward, EMBRACE THEM.

Fear means that you’re onto something. Shift your mindset from “there’s something wrong” to “this is exciting - I get to use this as an opportunity to discover who I am and what I really want in life.”

It’s like a treasure hunt! Only instead of a chest full of gold coins, you will discover you! And believe you me, when it comes to living a life you love, that is far more valuable.

When you can see your fear, stare it right in the face, and choose to think something different – well that feels incredibly empowering.

In fact, standing in the face of your fear – and not bowing down to it – is the very essence of being brave.
