Seek and Gratitude

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

So folks, there it is wrapped up with a bow (or maybe a superhero cape). All month we’ve explored how gratitude is one of the easiest ways to improve our mood, experience more joy, and even feel better while processing grief.

And what’s truly magical about gratitude is its simplicity.

Remember, gratitude makes us present to what is right in front of us. All we need to do is slow down and notice.

And when we turn gratitude into a habit, the rewards are limitless. We feel more joy each and every day, we deepen our relationships (with ourselves, our partners, our kids, our friends), and our outlook on life improves. Things that used to get us down, fade away.

Pretty great for something that takes seconds, wouldn’t you say?

So keep going. Challenge yourself to seek out those Magenta Moments. Make a mental note or take a picture when you find yourself in gratitude (and don’t forget to share it in the FB group!)

Try feeling more gratitude throughout your day, even during stressful moments.

Recently, on an exceptionally busy day, I found myself somewhat stressed by the amount of running around I had to do.

I have a tendency to choose the ‘circle route’. A phrase coined by my mom that means planning errands to be as efficient as possible by getting everything done on one ‘round’ trip.

I love how efficient that feels for me.

However, on this particular day, a ‘circle route’ was NOT an option. My list of ‘to-do’s’ just wasn’t going to get covered this way.

This is where gratitude came into play. As I was flying down the street to one of the doctor’s appointments I had booked, I remembered to pause for a moment and say out loud ‘I am grateful that I have the flexibility and the opportunity to run around doing errands, and that I am able to take care of my health.’

And just like that, my whole mood shifted and the day took on a new sense of ease.

Now, it’s your turn.
