Your Magenta Monday Magic.
A lot of women are so busy taking care of everyone else (partner, kids, aging parents) that committing to self-care rituals can be a real challenge. As moms, we have all of these superpowers that we used to pour love and time, and attention into raising our kids and empowering them to become successful adults.
But somehow we forget how to take much-needed time out for ourselves.
Here’s a radical thought: Be brave by loving yourself fiercely and unapologetically today.
And can we just stop for a minute and consider why loving yourself is a radical act? The truth is, for many of the clients I work with and women I talk to, this is a fact. So let’s do something to shift that today on the day of love.
Incorporating self-care activities into your Valentine’s Day this year will help you feel re-centered, but don't just stop there. You can (and should!) make them a part of your weekly routine. (Or at least monthly!)
This year my personal self-care goal is to drop more into my heart, to listen to and trust my intuition, and to give myself space to create.
What’s one thing you can do to care for yourself this week?
5 Self-care Ideas:
Add a bath bomb to the tub and relax. Include a glass of wine, some candles, and maybe even a book, and enjoy.
Make your own essential oil body scrub, because DIYs are great for you and a lot of fun!
Cook your favorite meal, and don't forget dessert!
Unplug from social media or all technology for the day. And that means no Netflix or Twitter.
Plan a Galentine's Day with all your girls. Drink wine, eat chocolate, order takeout, and watch your go-to guilty pleasure TV show or movie.
As moms, it isn’t always easy to do special things for ourselves. What if so and so judges me? What will so and so think? We are always doing so much for others but we feel guilty for taking care of ourselves.
What’s up with that?
Well, today you are a Queen. Happy Valentine’s Day!
