Ugh. The preventative stuff.
Womanly routine maintenance.
One of my least favorite things!
A revolving door of appointments. Blah.
The dermatologist every six months, the yearly well-woman exam, then the dentist.
But, at the end of the day, I would rather get it over with while I’m feeling good, instead of waiting until something goes horribly wrong.
As messed up as our healthcare system is in the U.S., most of us are fortunate enough to have some sort of preventative healthcare options such as dentists, well-women screening, mammograms, etc.
I was speaking with a Canadian colleague the other day and she said that (due to the doctor shortage) if she needs a mammogram - whether or not she has a suspicious lump - it can take over six months to schedule one.
If she’s lucky!
WTAF?! That is crazy!!
C’mon ladies. We are fortunate enough to still have that option, so please take advantage of it!
Schedule your regular doctor visits.
Get your well-woman exam.
Go to the dentist.
Have a suspicious mole? Make an appointment with the dermatologist. It’s better to know than to worry or even worse have it end up being something that could have been prevented if caught earlier.
Living an intentional life requires you to take an active role in creating a life you love!
These preventative measures are an integral part of that. You are increasing the odds that if something does go wrong, you will catch it early enough to do something about it.
It’s about choosing what you want more of in your life and taking action to get it.
So, let me ask you this…
What do you want more out of life?
Well, I can tell you that maintaining strong spiritual, mental, and physical health is one of the surest ways to get there.
It’s the pathway to all the pillars.
So, don’t wait for something to go wrong.
Life is so much better when you’re healthy enough to enjoy it.
It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.
What is an appointment you are overdue for? Pick up the phone and schedule it right now.
