But, you’ve got it all wrong!
Your Magenta Monday Magic.
So far this month, we have talked about what living a life of intention means and how vital that is in creating a life you love.
“Over time, even the tiniest meaningful actions add up, each one bringing you closer to a life that is truer to your dreams and free of regret.”
— Jane McGonigal, SuperBetter: The Power of Living Gamefully
Last week you did a visioning (and feeling!) exercise as a way to pick a word that closely represented what you wanted your life to look and feel like.
Sometimes what we have envisioned for our life doesn’t end up looking the way we thought it would at all!
By also focusing on ‘the feel’ you will become open to and aware of unexpected things that may start suddenly showing up in your life.
For example, I have a client who always wanted a large extended family. She imagined her kids having babies, and she pictured herself surrounded by love and a little bit of chaos. As her kids got older, she realized that having a family of their own may not be realistic. However, she had recently remarried, and her new husband had 3 kids of his own who had babies. As she was sitting at a family gathering feeling the love and a little bit of chaos, she realized that her vision had materialized, it just didn’t look the way she had always imagined! Had she been waiting for her exact vision to show up, she may have felt disappointed.
What’s really amazing is that you, too, have the ability and agency to improve your life, whenever you decide.
Whether you start a small shift within or decide to take a giant leap of faith there are no right or wrong inroads to start exploring.
It’s totally up to you!
Isn’t it incredible that you get to wake up every day and make new choices, regardless of the ones you’ve made in the past?
Activity: Now it’s time to intentionally get more of what you want in your life.
Think about your word and come up with 3 things you can do that directly relate to it.
For example, if your word is love,
Action 1: plan a date night with your partner, Action 2: send a sweet card to your mom and Action 3: get together with a girlfriend for lunch.
By acting with intention around the word you’ve chosen, you are setting the wheels in motion to create a life you love!
I invite you to take 30 minutes of your reflection time to really focus on the words that resonate deep inside you. Living with intention doesn’t happen overnight. Just keep taking small steps now and continue to check in as you go to make sure you’re always being true to yourself, your values, and the life you hope to lead.
PS. I’d love to hear what living with intention means to you! I invite you to share your thoughts and ideas with us in Thriving Mom’s Collective FB Group!
