Why Should You Prioritize Your Health?

When you think of taking care of your health what immediately comes to mind?
Do you picture a vitamin mini-pharmacy in your kitchen? Or a trip to the health food store?
How about strolling through the park or hitting the gym?
Well, this month’s Pillar is all about Prioritizing Your Health and it’s about so much more than just shedding a few unwanted pounds or remembering to take your vitamins.
Your overall well-being is comprised of your physical, mental, and spiritual health – kind of like a 3-legged stool.
And, like a stool, if any one leg is weaker than the others – the entire thing will just topple over.
Your 3-Legged Stool of Health- If you don’t have all three of these, it’s difficult to live a BRIGHTer life
Physical health - This leg can be strengthened through eating right, exercising regularly, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep. It’s also important to maintain your health by doing your regular maintenance checkups like well-woman visits and going to the dentist.
Mental health - This leg may be strengthened by seeking out treatment and/or support for depression or anxiety or working towards achieving balance, avoiding stress, or intentionally seeking out those things that elevate your overall well-being.
Spiritual health - This leg becomes stronger through connection to something bigger than yourself. For some, this is practiced through prayer. For others a connection to a Source. Or even the goodness of giving back to others and being kind and helpful.
So get ready to balance your 3 legged stool this month so you can get on with creating a life you love!

I invite you to take 30 minutes of your reflection time to really focus on these questions. Answer honestly - no one is going to see these but you!
Please use the attached goal-setting exercise to help you come up with 3 EASY steps towards achieving that goal.
