Your Magenta Monday Magic.
“Some people are living the illusions of others, instead of living the truth of themselves.” Jackov Kanani
As we wrap up our month of exploring how to live our truth, I hope that you have been continuing to learn and grow on this journey.
I don’t want to oversimplify this or make you think there’s a quick fix for the years of stories and programming that need to be rewritten and reprogrammed.
I want you to know it’s not going to be easy.
Your inner b*tch will likely pop up when you least expect her and kick and scream a little.
Or a lot.
The fact is, it’s a lot easier to just cave in and do things the way you’ve always done them.
It’s more comfortable and not as scary as standing up and speaking out.
But believe me, that’s no way to live life!
As you go down your own path…
Things to remember:
Discovering your truth is about taking baby steps.
Start by noticing - pay attention to the stories you tell yourself and listen to the negative voice in your head.
Notice when you choose not to listen and make a note to heed the call the next time.
Don’t beat yourself up, just choose to let it go. Again and again and again.
Find your edge.
Then push it just a little bit.
Commit to yourself. Ask for that table. Sign up for that painting class. Take up space. Speak your voice. Start that book.
The risk of dying with your story inside of you is far greater than the perceived risk of pushing your edge and getting out of your comfort zone.
Sweaty palms and all.
Monday Mindshift
It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.
What is your edge?
Living your truth is at the heart of all of this work.
For many moms, life in that pinball machine may have kept you from discovering who you are underneath all of those layers.
Discovering and living your truth is so critical to the entire concept of Living BRIGHTer.
Finding joy, purpose, and passion in your life can’t happen if you are not fully self-expressed and living authentically.
The following questions are designed to help you in your ‘inquiry’ to gain clarity on your truth.
For some of you, this may be easy. For others, it might make you uncomfortable to turn inward, like a muscle you haven’t used before.
Give yourself time to consider these questions, think about them as you go on your morning walk, or sit quietly drinking your afternoon cup of tea.
Don’t expect the answers to come immediately – this tends to be a process that takes time and patience.
Ask yourself…
1. What am I truly passionate about?
2. What activities light me up with joy?
3. What matters most to me?
4. How do I enjoy spending my time?
Choose one thing you learned about yourself this month and focus on taking baby steps to push your edge a little bit further.
And, when you feel uncomfortable and start to slip back into your comfort zone just remember…
“Find that truth, live that truth and everything else will come.” ― Ellen DeGeneres
