Embrace Empowered and Authentic Living to Overcome Fear

Live with intention

Your Magenta Monday Magic.

Surrounding Yourself with Positive and Supportive People

I’ve been deep in home maintenance mode for the past couple of months. After living here for 20 years, it seems that our to-do list just keeps getting longer. 🛠️

As they tend to do.

I set to work finding and calling contractors, getting bids on work, and then scheduling fixes of everything from rotted-out fence posts to a broken gate latch, to the removal of a DirectTV dish that was disconnected years ago.

After ticking so many items off my list, I looked forward to enjoying a bit of respite, before I geared up for the next round of tasks.

But my kitchen sink had other ideas.

A couple of times when reaching under there I noticed a little moisture – not much though – just enough to leave a ring of rust under my bottle of glass cleaner.🙄 I wiped it up – thinking maybe it was a fluke.

But then, a few days later, I noticed it was wet again.

‘Ugh’. I just didn’t have the patience to figure out where it was coming from, whether I could fix it, or if I needed to call a plumber.

So, I did what any other responsible homeowner would do – I ignored it.

Well, what else do you do with something you don’t feel like dealing with?

Wasn’t it better to leave it alone? I mean, who knows what can of worms I might open by investigating further?

And isn’t that so much like life? A little voice keeps whispering in your ear about something that needs your attention….

But what do you do?

Maybe you keep the door closed.

Maybe you distract yourself with other stuff.

Maybe you convince yourself that everything is fine.

Maybe you ignore it until the whisper becomes a roar.

Much like the leak under my sink, though, that insistent internal nagging isn’t something you should ignore – it’s an indicator of some truth you likely need to get to the bottom of. That’s what we’re going to explore this month – what it means to Live your Truth. We’ll also take a look at all things that can get in your way.

When we take the time to address those inner nudges and get to the heart of what we’ve been avoiding, we start on a path to Empowered and Authentic Living.

This month, we’ll take a closer look at the fears and doubts that often stand in our way of empowered and authentic living.

I’ll give you a preview of what’s ahead: most of the little tricks we employ to avoid taking action have to do with fear.

Monday Mindshift

It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.

Take some time to think about something that has been nagging at you. It could be large or small. Then ask yourself some probing questions, and answer them honestly.

  • Have I been avoiding it?

  • What am I afraid of?

  • What will happen if I keep putting this off?

  • How much better will I feel if I just deal with it?

Once you have some answers, take it a step further and pick one thing to add to the top of your to-do list.

By taking action, no matter how small, you’re moving closer to empowered and authentic living. You’re not letting fear or procrastination hold you back from the life you truly want to create.
