Your Magenta Monday Magic.
Now that we’ve spent August discussing bravery, it’s time to check in on your level of bravery.
You’ve likely had your share of opportunities to be brave in your life, especially in a challenging situation. You may have done things you didn’t think of as brave at the time, but when looking back, you can see just how brave you were – and how those actions played an important part in getting you to where you are today. Maybe you took a job in a city where you knew no one, stepped away from an unhealthy relationship, or tackled a project that kept you paralyzed with overwhelm. These moments in a challenging situation were pivotal in shaping your path.
Remember – being brave doesn’t just apply to big, dramatic acts.
Bravery exists in all the places where you take action despite being unsure of the outcome, especially when faced with a challenging situation.
Monday Mindshift
It’s the 1° shift that makes the biggest difference over time.
Take some time to reflect on your life and think of the times you were brave. Can you remember how you felt in the moment you chose to act the way you did. Were you scared? What were your deepest fears about taking that step? Failure? Disappointing yourself or others? Having to admit you were wrong?
Now consider how everything turned out. Did your fears come true? If so, did they lead to other opportunities? If not, how did everything turn out?
Think about an opportunity you have right now that requires you to be brave or that pushes your comfort zone a little (or a lot!). What is the ONE next SIMPLE step you can take that will get you started?
Remember, the antidote to fear is action. ✊
Don’t forget – you can always ask a friend or someone you trust to be your accountability buddy.
Be as specific as possible with your action step: I will do this one thing, that will accomplish this for me, by this specific date.
Then add it to your calendar and get it done. Once that’s completed, commit to the next simple step you can take.
I can’t wait to see how you do in your next challenging situation!
